Research Bursaries to study Food, Tourism or Hospitality available for September 2009



Research bursaries (12) are available on a competitive basis to students wishing to study at postgraduate level. The bursaries are specifically for research orientated degrees within the Department of Food and Tourism Management. For more information download the information sheet. Closing date 1st of July.


One-year bursary: £1,500 payment; up to 180 hours of teaching/research
support (in excess of £2,000).
Deadline for applications: 1 July 2009
Start date: 1 September 2009


Applications are invited for newly created bursaries for students wishing
to enrol on programmes of study leading to Masters by Research and PhD.
Students will be expected to enrol in September 2009 in projects linked to
the specialist areas of the Department. This can incorporate projects
relating to: food technology: sports and human nutrition; tourism
management; events management; and hospitality management.

The bursaries (up to 12 in total) will be allocated entirely on the basis
of merit, and applicants will need to have an appropriate undergraduate
degree (at least 2i or above). To apply for one of the bursaries
applicants will need to submit a 250 word project outline, an academic
reference supporting your suitability for undertaking postgraduate
research and a completed application form.
