The main goal of this youth exchange is to promote the usage of sport activi-ties as part of everyday living, as well as promoting the intercultural dialogue between different nations by using sports as a tool. In sports, the same rules apply, regardless of the part of Europe where they’re played. By using sports, people don’t need the same language to understand each other, they just need to use the same passion in their hearts, no matter which country they are coming from or what is their social status.
For us, the sports are a very useful tool in the integration of the young people!
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Venue: Scout Centre “Esperanto Domo” / City of Kostrena / Croatia
Dates: 10 - 17 June 2011
The objectives of the project are:
- Promotion of sports, as part of everyday living;
- Fighting stereotypes and prejudices, by engaging the participants to do activities in the same place at the same time;
- Promotion of the healthy lifestyle, by showing examples of how sports can reflect health in general;
- Getting inside of the poverty and truly understanding it, in order to use the poverty to connect the people, not to divide them;
- Raising awareness about the influence of the poverty over the healthy lifestyle;
- Promotion and introduction of new types of sports, so called “alternative sports”;
- Understanding the poverty and the reflect of the poverty on the usage of sports and with that the implication on health;Promotion of the European citizenship, as a mark, which is connecting all of us, no matter which part of the European continent are we coming from;
- Promotion of places, where people can realize the sport activities;
- Opening and widening new horizons among the participants;
- Creating safe environment, in which the young people will be able to reflect freely on their emotions, needs, expectations, working arm to arm with other young people, coming from different cultural and eco-nomical backgrounds.
