Spain and Montenegro students successfully presented their cultures!

In the series of intercultural evenings hosted at Turistica, on Tuesday 24th April 2012 Spanish & Montenegro students successfully presented their cultures to around 50 students.

They have both prepared PowerPoint presentations with workshops – dancing lessons, guess the famous person, meet the truth about stereotypes and of course local culinary of both countries. Again all the guests were served with many dishes and beverages, which were very well prepared and tasty. All students really showed their skills for presenting their culture. Students which prepared the evening and students which attended it were very satisfied and had a great time. International office asked them to give some statements for our blog posts.

We had a good time with all the people who attended the event. It was a way of sharing all our customs and traditions and after our work students approached us to tell us that they had a very good day. We would like to comment that we are in favor of this kind of cultural exchanges that make us learn unknown data and help to promote the communication and friendship between all the people that were there. In conclusion, it was funnier and better than we thought. I encourage everyone to attend this type of event!

My Spanish colleagues and I were very satisfied with the number of Slovenian students and other Erasmus students who came to our presentation.  My aim was to present Montenegro, and tell as much as I can  about history, tourism, night life and national cuisine and as well the path that my country had to take from SFR Yugoslavia to gaining back its independence in 2006. I brought 5l of Vranac-typical Montenegrin red wine, prepared some Montenegrin kanapei (with cheese, and Montenegrin smoked sausage which we call sudzuk), 1l of Loza – rakija made of grapes so the people can have “a taste of Montenegro”. By the impressions and the questions that I was asked after the presentation I can tell that they liked it.
