˝We sell the future from the day 1 onwards.˝
On 24th March 2012 the 3rd year Bachelor´s degree students of Faculty of Tourism Studies, Turistica hosted Dejan Romih, CEO of Mountvacation.com. Within the subject of Entrepreneurship in Tourism we were discussing the tourism-related topics such as what makes a business idea really good, how important is an excellent business model for the success of the company and how to apply for funds and venture capital.
Romih studied at the Faculty of Economics, University of Ljubljana and got experience and knowledge from working for travel agencies such as Phoenix and Odisej. In 2007 he received the award for best business plan, followed by the award for the most innovative company in the ˝start-up˝ segment which resulted in the receiving of venture capital from Business Angels Slovenia.
He admits picking team- members is a very challenging thing to do. According to Romih you have to follow your inner feeling when building up your team. ˝If there is a doubt, there is no doubt,˝ he claims. One of the criteria to take part of Mountvacation.com team is also to be a passionate alpine skier or snowboarder. At the moment of speaking the team consists of members from 8 countries, each specialist in his/her own field. His idea for the company came out from Romih´s passion and desire to spend at least 50 skiing days per year on the top of the ski slope. So far- he is succeeding it!
What makes his web portal different from others is the possibility of dynamic packaging which makes ones vacations perfectly tailor-made. You can book accommodation, transfers, ski tickets, ski school lessons and even coupons for dinner and drinks with a discount. So you don´t have to worry about anything once you get to your ski-heaven. Mountvacation.com already is the biggest alpine tourism database by the number of data in Europe with the goal to provide the best possible search-results in the shortest time.
About the problems that each entrepreneur has to deal with on his career path he believes they are crucial for the success of any company. Or in his words: ˝Not having any problems equals not going fast enough!˝
