As from February 2014, negotiations on Swiss participation in the European education programme 'Erasmus+' were suspended, Switzerland still has the status of a third country or 'partner country' in the Erasmus+ Call for proposals 2016.
Therefore the Swiss National Agency has just launched the third round of the Swiss interim solution for Erasmus+; I am pleased to inform you about the details of the 2016 "Swiss Call".
We have about 15.5 million EUR at disposition for Higher Education and we will be able to continue funding student mobility (study periods and traineeships) as well as staff mobility for both outgoings and incomings.
Please refer to the table below for the grant level for incoming students and staff for the Call 2016 (in Swiss francs and the corresponding amounts in EUR):
Home country Slovenia: student mobility for studies (per month): CHF 420 (390 evr)
Home country Slovenia: student mobility for traineeships (per month): CHF 420 (390 evr)
Travel costs: max. CHF 600 (EUR 555)
As we had many questions concerning traineeships in Switzerland: in order to be eligible for funding, students have to apply at a Swiss HEI (higher education institution - usually a partner institution of the student's home institution) even if the traineeship will take place at an enterprise or another organisation. However, it is the Swiss HEI in question that makes the grant award decision - according to their resources and priorities.
In case of questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.
